Slot wants €40 million Bayer Leverkusen star at Liverpool
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot want versatile Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong to bolster the squad during the summer window. Frimpong has played a pivotal role for Leverkusen under manager Xabi Alonso, particularly during their invincible Bundesliga triumph last season.
Leverkusen are second in the Bundesliga this season and recently suffered elimination from the Champions League by rivals Bayern Munich. Frimpong has struggled with inconsistency this season but that comes with the collective struggle of his teammates at the club.

According to the German publication Bild, Liverpool boss Slot wants Frimpong from Leverkusen, who has a €40 million release clause. Bild further reported that Slot and Frimpong, both Dutch, communicate regularly and have a good relationship.
With Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah fulfilling the last few months of their current contract, this news is bittersweet for the Reds fanbase. The Kopites want Liverpool to sign players like Frimpong with the special ability to make a positive impact. However, they don’t want the incredible Dutch star at the expense of their beloved players currently at the club.
Nevertheless, Frimpong is a fantastic addition to the current squad with the pace, technique and athleticism that Liverpool lacks. The Reds faced a lot of issues in their recent losses to Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United.
