Joao Cancelo’s hopes of continuing at Barcelona for another season may just be fading ahead of the start of the new La Liga season.

The Catalans seem to be going all out for top target Nico Williams and aren’t really thinking about other signings right now.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Barcelona “won’t do anything crazy” for Cancelo and that Hansi Flick is thinking about the options he has available.

The German has both Hector Fort and Julian Araujo in his squad, and will check on both players in pre-season, while Jules Kounde could also continue in the role.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are thought to want around €30 million for Cancelo, an amount that doesn’t seem feasible for Barcelona currently.

Cancelo is still enjoying some time off after Euro 2024 and was not included in Manchester City’s squad for their pre-season tour of the United States.

City are actually due to meet Barcelona in the coming days, but it’s not clear if any talks for Cancelo will take place or where he’ll be playing his football next season.
